orca2000+JEMS handles all of the business functions of a multi-store jeweler, including Point of Sale, Inventory Control, Purchasing, all Accounting functions including user definable Financial Statements thus providing a highly controlled Closed Loop system.  BIS’ unique Customer Information Center is an extensive module used to handle all Customer Service inquiries, Credit Applications and Collections follow up.  Interface with all major Credit Bureaus is provided, including via Internet. 

BIS provides the most comprehensive JEwelry Merchandising System (JEMS) which operates on an industrial strength relational database that handles all the transactions you throw at it without wearing down.  This integrated application offers a solution both at the counter as well as in the back office. Those Jewelers involved in Revolving or Installment credit understand just how important a fully integrated Credit and Collections system means to them.

BIS’ JEMS application starts at the store level with Credit Application Entry with automatic credit reports available at the store before the application is fully
entered. A tightly integrated internal Mail system keeps the Credit Manager “in the know” of all of the deals in process at store level. Once the Credit Manager approves the transaction, the customer is automatically setup and the store continues with the sales transaction. Those Jewelry chains involved with installment credit will have a contract automatically print at store level for the customer to sign. 

This very highly integrated application provides the needed tools to manage the largest asset to credit jewelers: credit. 

For those involved with the merchandise side of the business, they will also find specialized tools to track merchandise as it travel throughout the chain. Merchandise Transfers are tracked for merchandise tracked via auto stock replenishment, manual transfers, and returned merchandise at store level. Our 'Basic' merchandise stock level helps the Merchandise Planners with the distribution responsibility based upon yesterday's sales.  Imagine your retail business with "Just-in-Time" merchandise at store level.

The Jewelry Merchandising system (JEMS) is a set of computer programs designed to address efficiently all the information requirements of your jewelry business. These programs provide control of jewelry merchandising, internal operations and accounting. 

Designed for multiple location jewelry merchandising, JEMS is a multi-company system that offers security measures which allow management to restrict access to any application, any program or any data field.

  • Financial Statements - flexible financial statements by profit center and department designed by a leading accounting firm
  • Accounts Receivable - in addition to a complete history of customer transactions, this module automatically generates various letters such as late notices, welcoming new accounts, returned checks and insufficient payment notices 
  • Sales Analysis – various analysis by item, product group, customer, salesperson and store for both dollars and units
  • Reorder recommendations, Purchase Order tracking and easy merchandise Receiving process. 
  • Accounts Payable transactions are validated against merchandise received to assure proper payment on Vendor Invoices.
  • Tracks Outside Processing allowing merchandise going out and coming back to have different costs and prices as well as new item codes
  • Relational Data Base – the key to obtaining any information the way you want it - includes ad hoc query and reporting with graphical presentation
