The BIS National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Interface enables all BIS Public Safety and Criminal Justice products to communicate with NCIC for the purpose of developing criminal histories, wants or warrant creation or validation, listing stolen properties and vehicles, or publishing “all points bulletins” or other administrative agency to agency messages.
Capable of handling multiple agencies and jurisdictions through a single NCIC interface attach point, the BIS NCIC Interface provides county, regional, or state-wide networking and telecommunications capabilities.
If allowed by law or local agency procedure, NCIC Interface functions can be transmitted and received via BIS’ orca2000+MUFRS (Mobile Unit Field Reporting System) or handheld devices.
Often states, counties or regions utilize a local area network and telecommunications system to ultimately access NCIC. If this is the case with your agency, BIS can assist your agency with custom programming requirements supporting a variety of equipment platforms and communications protocols.
